Bagru textiles

I had the pleasure of meeting with Vjendra who runs Bagru textiles.  They use a all natural vegetable dyes and have developed a very complex system for dying and printing that is particular to Bagru the area in which the factory is located (about 30 mins north of jaipur).  Vjendra let me test out some of my own designs while I was there.  I look forward to potentially working with Bagru for my new line!

I am off to India to collect inspiration for my art and possibly find some artisans to make some of my prints for next year. I will be going with two great pals: this kid and also this cat. I'll be posting here so check back often.
